3rd Quarter Report This quarter in ceramics, I feel that I have grown a lot in my knowledge of throwing and glazing. I have explored some methods that I had never done before, like little tricks to center faster and staining projects with glaze on top. However, I have fallen behind quite a bit on due dates. I got enrolled in ceramics a week late into the quarter, and I was out for about another week with band field trips and college auditions in Chicago. I spent a lot of time this quarter doing little things for Ms. H, like putting in grades, checking blogs, helping noobs, etc. Then when I got on the wheel I didn't always have a lot of luck. As a first semester advanced student, I try to keep in mind that I have only been throwing for a few months so it makes sense that I haven't made a new project each week. My effort has been valiant though, I feel that I put a lot into getting projects done, but little things get in the way. So far, I have succeeded in making a tall project, bowls, and a wide project. (I will put the wide project up on my finished projects blog tomorrow when I get it out of the glaze kiln) I am two pieces into completing my set of three, with one in the bisque kiln and one that will be footed tomorrow (friday). My cleaning habits have been average. There isn't usually a lot to do in my assigned kiln room, so I do things for Ms. H around the desk area. I am excited for next quarter, where I feel I will have a lot more success in meeting due dates and coming up with a great theme for my presentation at the end of the year.
